Dear Baby What I love about you! ~ Review and Giveaway!

Board books should never be boring! In fact baby and toddler books should be some of the most engaging, vibrantly illustrated and enthrallingly written literary works available....they should be because they serve such a valuable and noble purpose.


A mommy of three and an educator, I am well aware of the significant role colourful and language rich baby board books play in child development. To write off these books as insignificant, to write these books without intent and consideration of diction and visually captivating illustrations is a grave injustice to good baby literature authors. Dear Baby What I Love about you by Carol Casey is a book which charms, captivates, and delights! With bold bright illustrations by Jason Oransky and beautifully crafted rhyming diction by Casey this is a baby book that even my older children are aware is better than the ordinary!

I no longer have babies in my household but Bronwynn and Emma, my 5 and 7 year old daughters were wonderful reviewers. My daughter Bronwynn found the pictures delightful and my daughter Emma, who is still developing her reading skills read the book to us. Upon closing the book my daughter Emma proceeded to explain to me, "You see mom it is important to read books like this to babies because this is how they learn to talk properly!" Insightful child development advice for a 7 year old.

Endearing with a message of love and affirmation Dear Baby is the perfect book for baby!

What I truly love and find most original about this Dear Baby book is the keepsake log inside the back cover. It leaves space to sign for those who read the book to baby. What a great way to cherish and reflect on shared reading moments!

Carol Casey is a mother of two and grandmother of one. She has spent over 15 years working with women's and children's charities and began her writing career in Chicago as a news writer and editor.

Illustrator Jason Oransky is a leading graphic artist for Carter Clothes Inc. This is his debut as a children's book illustrator.
