One Noble Journey ~ Book Tour

Children's literature is often some of the best and I am often amazed at how wonderfully crafted many children's story books are. What is truly great is when you find children's books which teach valuable moral lessons or, if you are religious, it is wonderful to find stories which teach the religious lessons you believe in.

One Noble Journey written by Dixie Phillips and illustrated by Kim Sponaugle, is a children's book which both emphasizes a very valuable moral lesson and embodies Christian religious beliefs. The story of two girls separated by the cultures of rich and poor in a tiny village become unlikely best friends, one the daughter of a count and the other a poor orphan girl. The count disapproves of his daughter's friendship with this poor, lowlands girl but soon a misadventure involving a wayward raccoon closes the gap between these two cultures and teaches that "all are equal at the foot of the cross"!

Dixie has been a pastor's wife for over 30 years and her love for writing plays for children evolved into writing children's books! She has also written award-winning devotional books, poetry, and works for Randall House as a topical curriculum writer. She knows how to develop complex religious material into something understandable and comprehensive for children of all ages!

I am a great believer in moral lessons for children and though I find the religious concept a bit daunting One Noble Journey handles the religious context well with a very relatable example for children. My 7 year old daughter truly enjoyed the book while I believe my 5 year old, who loved the raccoon, lost a bit of interest near the end.

If you are in search of a unique Christian children's book which promotes love and acceptance and explains the unconditional acceptance Jesus has for all you really must pick up a copy! This book would also be a wonderful addition to Sunday school classes, and church libraries and is a great holiday tale!

I am offering my copy to one lucky Northern Mama follower!
