Chicken Soup for the Soul - NASCAR!

This Chicken Soup book, Chicken Soup for the Soul-Nascar, is loaded with "101 Stories of Family, Fortitude and Fast Cars".

The 101 stories are sub-divided into 12 different themes which include Lessons Learned, Behind and Beyond, the Wheel, Behind the Billboards and The Secrets of Success.

There are stories from a variety of sources, many of which are embedded directly in the Nascar scene. There is a whole chapter dedicated to Dale Earnhardt, as well as personal stories by Darrell Waltrip, Bobby Labonte, Buddy Baker and Kerry Earnhardt just to name a few. Not only are car driver's represented, but also stories from sports journalists, as well as track employees to give you another perspective!

Myself, I am not a race car fan, let-alone a Nascar follower. Many names flew over my head, and did not have a great deal of meaning to me. That being said, I can see where those who are faithful to the Sunday circuit of races would really enjoy this book and who doesn't know the Earnhardt legacy?? Angela believes this will be the perfect Father's Day gift for her dad! He is a mechanic and has always been into cars. He isn't a religious Nascar fan but does follow the races and the cars he so loves!

Darrell Waltrip wrote the forward and also says: "We're a family sport. What I'm talking about is the garage area, the camaraderie and the respect that we all have for each other. Every driver is a role model and that is what makes our sport great." These values are shared on many levels with the submissions included in this collection.
